  After accelerating away from Nottingham Victoria under the tunnel, 45267 bursts into the open at Weekday Cross, where the Great Northern branches off towards Grantham (May 1966).

Here is a view from a London bound semi-fast approaching the structure over Nottingham Midland. Just beyond this point is Awkwright Street station, which was the northern "terminus" for local services until 1969 (see tickets).   Over Nottingham Midland

  Passing Ruddington station - the current home of the G C (Nottingham) and Rushcliffe Halt, the first stop was at East Leake. A view here shows 44984 with the driver out of his cab waiting for the signal to leave (20th August 1966). (For a view south, see 92218).
